Tassel

Make a tassel.  I used 2 colors of yarn, purple and pearl gray and this method demonstrated by KnittingsbyJudy, but I wrapped a lot more yarn around the cardboard to make it thicker.  Attach tassel in the center of the purple hat crown.

Valentine's Mobile

I made this mobile for my daughter for Valentine's Day.  I used two brass macrame rings (5 inches and 12 inces) for the base of the mobile.  I used the Pop Heart pattern from MyGurumi.  To get different sizes I used worsted weight yarn and a G hook for the large heart and DK weight yarn and a C hook for the smaller hearts.

I used the Quick and Simple Heart bracelet pattern from Happy Berry Crochet to make the heart streamers and then I braided the ends and tied them on.

I also used 1/4 inch ribbon to tie on heart and flower buttons and large sequins.  I secured the ribbon using the tying technique shown here.  Then I wrapped the rings with pink yarn.

Happy Hooking!

Flowery Christmas Tree Skirt

I have a very intricate tree skirt that I made over 20 years ago out of felt.  It has Santa and his sleigh, 8 reindeer and elves filling the sleigh with presents and its decorated with sequins.  Unfortunately, I'm going to have to retire it because over the years it's gotten dirty and I can't wash it because all the colors will run.  So this year I decided to make a new tree skirt.  This is a pretty easy pattern that shouldn't take too long to make.  Have fun!
