Falling Leaves Ripple Cowl

I love this stitch pattern.  It's from another scarf pattern that I have but it runs down the length of the scarf.  It's very pretty, but I get tired of all that chaining (171 chs) and the long foundation row.  So I decided to turn the pattern so it runs the width of the scarf and then turn it into a cowl.    There is a stitch diagram after the written pattern.  Hope you like the changes.

  1. I don't understand dc3 together over cluster. Can you help me?

    1. The cluster is joined together at the top so it counts as one stitch. The dc3tog is 3 dcs that are joined at the top. The 1st dc is started in the top of the 1st cluster, then the next dc is started in the ch-1 sp and the last dc is started in the top of the next cluster, then the three stitches are joined together at the top by pulling the yarn through all the loops (4 in this case) that are left on the hook. If you look at the beginning of Row 3 on the diagram above, it's easier to see, it's just after the 3 chain stitches.

  2. Getting a head start on the new school year begins with picking out the proper supplies, so Back to School Supplies is always a thrill. A plethora of new notebooks and brightly coloured pens—the sight of them always makes me feel nostalgic for my childhood. Choosing fresh supplies brings a feeling of eagerness, preparedness, and practicality. Seeing my child's enthusiasm for their new learning resources is a source of great satisfaction for me as a parent.
