Legs

Make 2

With YELLOW YARN, Ch 22, sc in 2nd ch (in back bumps) from hook and each *ch to end, ch 3, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next ch, sl st in bottom of last sc* 3 times, fasten off leaving a tail for sewing

Flamingo Collar

With Blue Yarn, ch 10, dc in 3rd ch from hook (counts as 1st dc) and in each st to end, fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. (8 dcs)

Bow

For the bow I used Blue Yarn and this pattern from Daisy Cottage Designs.

Assembly

With RIGHT SIDES together sew the bottom edge of the NECK FRONT to the top of one of the dress body pieces.

Sew the Flamingo head onto the neck piece.

Sew the beak onto the head.

For the flamingo neck, body and legs, pin all the pieces to the dress body before sewing them down.

Pin the flamingo neck so that it matches up with the dress neck and shape it to curve down the dress.

Pin the flamingo body to match up withe the neck.

Pin the top of the legs under the flamingo body. Cross the front leg over the back leg before pinning.

Sew down the pieces to the dress body.

Pin on the feathers and sew them down only along the top edges, leaving the rounded edges loose.

Sew the collar on to the flamingo neck near the flamingo body.

Sew the middle of bow to the front of the collar, leaving the bow edges loose.

Embroider the eyes with black yarn or embroidery floss.

With RIGHT SIDES together sew the bottom edge of the Neck Back to the top of the other dress body piece.

Whip stitch 12 of the 24 chs on the neck piece to the side of the front dress body piece and then sew the back 12 chs to the back dress body to form the armhole.
