Jennifer has been patiently waiting for me to make a happy owl pattern. So here is a cute little owlet to brighten your day!
This afghan is 135 stitches across and 157 rows high. With an I hook and worsted weight yarn I measured my gauge at 4 stitches and 4 rows per inch, so this afghan would be approximately 33 3/4" x 39 1/4" when finished, about lapghan size. You could make it larger by adding a border in a contrasting color.
I crochet, but many knitters have used my charts and they say they turn out well.

I've found some tutorials for different methods of doing Tapestry Crochet. If you are really talented (and somewhat ambidextrous) you can switch the hook to your left hand when you get to the end of the row and then crochet back the way you came like
Carol Ventura does. I think this
tutorial by Interweave is a little easier if you want to keep all of the design facing the same direction. This video
tutorial by Red Heart Yarn has you turn the afghan as you crochet, it's easier but the design is not as true.
